ORIGINAL STORY // Preview!
Alright, so this idea has been swimming in my head since May 2006 and it's obviously not done yet because I am slow, but Disney World. Yessss. This story is called Never Outgrown and I've mentioned it a number of places and I even made it it's own site. For some reason, sites help me keep things organized -- so I always make them for everything. (GROCERY LIST? WEBSITE MADE, CHECK. XD) Anyways, I thought I'd stick a preview of the story here -- while some of the parts of the story are kind of done, they are still in the heavy stages of rough drafty-ness. So it will be a little bit before it's all well and done.
But I bet you can tell where I got the character names from, and I bet you know why I love each of the actors chosen for the characters. MUAH~
BACK TO THE ORIGINAL POINT. Here is a small tidbit from the story! And yes, the final story will feature all your favorite Disney characters and DW locations. Heee.
"Come on, where to next?"
"Well," Aiden situated himself back against the giant film roll. "What did Woody say again?"
"The place where life springs from one!" Allana squeaked, her hand still clutched around the wand, just like it had been all night as she slept, most likely.
Aiden looked to Asher, blinking slowly. "We only have three parks to choose from."
"Animal Kingdom."
"The tree." Aiden nodded, recalling the Tree of Life. He had always admired all the animal carvings in it.
Asher joined in his brother’s nods, glancing down to his watch, "It’s already eleven. We better get moving."
The three of them slid off of the large leaf, Aiden grabbing his backpack on the way down. Once they got to the bottom, he secured the sack over his shoulders, Asher leaning over and checking to make sure they still had all the little Hidden Mickey heads inside. "We’re good," he said, zipping the pack up. As Asher shifted the backpack on Aiden’s back, the younger brother’s eyes narrowed behind his glasses.
"That ant wasn’t there yesterday."
"Huh?" Asher stopped, peeking over his brother’s shoulder at the giant ant he had been eyeing earlier. "That one?" He motioned to it, his mind racing back to the night before. He had been too tired to pay loads of attention to their surroundings and now he was regretting it as his heart sank. Aiden was right.
"Yeah, that one." Aiden felt his muscles tense up as he stared to the heavy plastic insect. If it wasn’t in that exact spot yesterday and it was now... he knew none of them had moved it. It was the size of Asher and Aiden, maybe even a little bigger -- and easily twice the size of Allana. "We need to go."
Asher’s eyes darted from side-to-side, between his two siblings. Aiden was clutching the straps of his backpack, eyes wide and Allana was hugging the wand to her chest, her hair still sticking out in every direction from their long nap. "On three?"
He caught them both nodding.
"One… two—"
"I saw his leg move!" Allana screamed out.
That was all the Vargary’s needed to take off. Asher grabbed his little sister’s free hand and turned, bolting towards the exit of the playground. Aiden was right on their heels, jumping over gigantic leaves and dodging large stalks of grass. He risked a glance back and sure enough, the ant was real and most definitely coming after them. That image only pushed him harder and he ran up on the side of Asher and passed him, pushing out the entrance of the playground. He stopped and turned, his siblings catching up to them. The ant was lumbering over a huge blue Lego block and its current state gave the breathless Aiden a chance to speak. "It’s confined to the playground, right? I mean, it can’t come out of ---"
His question was instantly answered when it crawled out of the entrance to the playground, skittering towards them again. Asher leaned down and picked Allana up, tossing her over his shoulder, running once more. There was a moment of surprise when he realized how big she had gotten, which quickly left his head once he felt her hitting his back with her free hand. "Hurry! It’s catching up!"
They had turned and were now speeding through the New York Backlot, towards the center of the park -- up Commissary Lane, past The Great Movie Ride, past the Sorcerer’s Hat and finally to Hollywood Boulevard. This was the next point where Aiden figured he could sneak one more look, as they ran down the main stretch, passing the rows of shops on either side. He figured they could be running for no reason at this point. Trailing slightly behind his two siblings, he turned, jogging backwards and not even a heartbeat after he did so, he was leaping away from a pair of clacking mandibles. Letting out something between a squeal and a scream, Aiden faced forward again, speeding past his siblings. He was the first one to leap over the entrance turnstiles and he made sure to run another good thirty feet before daring to turn around. Allana skittered under one of the turnstiles while Asher slid across the top of the same one and once they hit the spot where Aiden was standing, both stopped and looked back.
The giant ant was stopped at the turnstiles, poking and prodding and trying to find a way through them. Asher began backing away slowly, digging the minivan key out of his pocket. "Let’s go before he figures out he can climb over the things if he tries."
Both Aiden and Allana mumbled a response; still trying to catch their breath and Asher turned them both around, grabbing an arm in each hand. He began pulling them away towards the parking lot and was the only Vargary child to risk a glance back once more; the ant was still fiddling with the turnstiles. With a long exhale, he loosened his grip on his siblings and pointed out the minivan in the empty parking lot. Meandering towards it, grinning lazily at the fact that they parked it in the closest non-handicapped spot they could manage, Asher unlocked the doors for his siblings and threw once last glance to the Tower of Terror and the Earful Tower that poked out over the trees. A sigh escaped his lips as he climbed into the driver’s seat and started the vehicle, driving the Vargary siblings away from the MGM Studios.
Seriously, that thing is the bomb. I had to include the ant. <3
So look for Never Outgrown in the near future! :D
